Multidisciplinary Artist
B. 1998
Sheanni Ravelé Sims is a multi-disciplinary, painter & graphic design artist whose practice highlights the experiences of Black, queer, and trans communities and their capacity to impact the world through her art form. Sheanni’s creative catalog includes fine arts along with expressionism and design. As a Full Sail University alumnus, Sheanni studied Graphic Design from 2022-2024. While attending Full Sail University remotely,
Sheanni also remained consistent with her passion for fine art & visual design. From 2022-2023, Sheanni facilitated “Art Meditations” at Housing Works Youth & Prevention Services where she taught the skill of painting to LGBTQ Youth in East New York. For almost a decade Sheanni has dedicated her time to teaching, showcasing & offering her support to those who enjoy art & those want to learn. Sheanni has also actively designed & hosted her “Paint & Chews” at Black Trans Liberation Kitchen. Continuing to guide trans youth to highlight their present gifts in the fine-arts.
Sheanni's work highlights afrofuturism, queer black lifestyles, femininity and masculinity while also challenging western concepts within futurism and social constructs. Since she was a child, she’d spend most of her time working with her hands drawing & self expression. These expressions focused on friendship, teamwork, and community, which are themes that clearly continue to inspire the artist.
